Understand Your Data Privacy Rights and Security Measures

This document outlines how Fireball IT collects, secures, and processes information to support our technical infrastructure and user communications.

About This Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 24, 2023

Fireball IT operates advanced monitoring and detection networks. Building high-trust systems requires an uncompromising approach to data governance. When you interact with our infrastructure—whether accessing public research or interfacing with our detection grids, you generate data. This policy defines the exact mechanisms we use to handle your personal information.

We prioritize transparency in our data architecture because security through obscurity always fails. You need to know exactly what leaves your browser, where it resides on our servers, and how we protect it from unauthorized access. This document serves as your technical manual for understanding our privacy operations.

Information We Collect

We categorize incoming data into two distinct streams: automated telemetry and user-provided information. Each stream undergoes different processing and storage protocols.

Automated Telemetry

When you access our infrastructure, our servers automatically log standard diagnostic data. This includes your IP address, user-agent string, TLS version, and the specific endpoints you request. We capture microsecond-precision timestamp data for every interaction. This log data forms the baseline for our security monitoring. By analyzing this telemetry, our engineering team identifies brute-force attempts and maps distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) vectors. While our current architecture supports payload delivery, we continuously audit these logs to identify new latency bottlenecks across our camera networks.

User-Provided Information

Direct interaction with our team requires explicit data submission. If you utilize the Contact Us form, we collect your name, email address, and the raw text of your message. Subscribing to research updates similarly requires a valid email address. We isolate this contact data from our general traffic logs. Storing communication records in a dedicated, encrypted database prevents accidental exposure during routine server maintenance.

How We Use Your Information

Data collection serves specific operational requirements. We do not hoard information without a defined technical or communicative purpose.

System Optimization

We analyze traffic patterns to allocate server resources efficiently. Understanding which research publications or monitoring dashboards receive the most concurrent connections allows us to scale our infrastructure preemptively. If a specific satellite monitoring feed experiences a sudden traffic spike, our load balancers use historical data to provision additional nodes. This ensures high availability during critical incident periods.

Direct Communication

Information submitted through contact channels triggers our response protocols. We use your email address exclusively to reply to your inquiries, provide requested technical support, or deliver the specific research updates you authorized. We strictly prohibit cross-referencing your communication data with your browsing telemetry.

Third-Party Integrations and Data Sharing

Modern web architecture relies on distributed services. We integrate with select external vendors to maintain site stability and measure performance at the edge. These partners process data strictly under our operational directives.

Our primary integrations include Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and secure hosting providers. To serve content rapidly across different geographic regions, CDNs must temporarily process your IP address. This technical constraint allows them to route your request to the nearest edge server and block known malicious actors before they reach our origin infrastructure. We also utilize analytics vendors to aggregate visitor metrics. These tools process anonymized behavior patterns rather than individual user identities. While we currently do not deploy advertising networks, our infrastructure supports future integrations for targeted service announcements. We never sell your raw data to data brokers or unauthorized third parties.

Cookies and Tracking

We deploy cookies—small text files stored on your device, to manage session state and track site usage. Our implementation divides these trackers into distinct functional categories to give you granular control.

Essential Trackers

These cookies are mandatory. They maintain your session security, remember your consent preferences, and enable basic site navigation. For example, when you authenticate into a secure portal, an essential cookie holds your session token. Disabling essential cookies breaks core functionality and forces continuous re-authentication.

Analytics and Performance

We deploy measurement scripts to quantify page load times and user journey paths. This data reveals friction points in our interface. If a specific dashboard loads slowly for mobile users, these cookies flag the anomaly so our developers can refactor the code.

Control Mechanisms

You retain absolute control over non-essential tracking. Modern browsers allow you to block or delete cookies at the protocol level. Modifying your browser settings to reject analytics trackers will not restrict your access to our public research or documentation.

Your Data Subject Rights

You maintain ownership of your personal information. We provide direct mechanisms to exercise your regulatory rights regarding data access and modification.

  • Right to Access: You can request a complete export of the personal data linked to your identity currently residing on our servers. We provide this export in a standard, machine-readable format.
  • Right to Rectification: If our records contain inaccurate contact details, you can mandate immediate correction.
  • Right to Erasure: You can trigger our deletion protocols to purge your information from our active databases. This process cryptographically shreds your records, rendering them unrecoverable.

To execute any of these rights, submit a formal request through our Contact Us page. We process all verified data subject requests promptly, ensuring compliance with global privacy frameworks.

Data Retention and Policy Revisions

We enforce strict lifecycle management for all stored information. Server logs containing IP addresses undergo automated purging after a standard retention cycle. Contact information remains in our secure systems only as long as an active communication thread exists or a subscription remains valid. Once data exceeds its operational utility, our automated scripts overwrite the storage sectors. Backups containing historical data naturally age out and are destroyed according to our disaster recovery schedule.

As our technical capabilities evolve, this privacy architecture will require updates. We will post all structural changes to this document directly on this page. Significant modifications to data processing workflows will trigger an update to the revision date at the top of this document.

Take immediate action to secure your digital footprint. Audit your browser's privacy settings today, disable third-party cookies globally, and enforce strict tracking protection to maintain absolute control over your personal data across the web.
